Summary: Our Welder is responsible for reading blueprints and shop drawings to perform welding related work orders on prefabbed structural steel for various engineering jobs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Welding steel structural parts as specified per drawing or print
• Determining appropriate welding equipment specific to applicable part
• Operating grinder to prepare and finish welds
• Operating beam rotators
• Operating beam transfers
• Operating magnetic drill
• Full visual inspection of part ensuring all welds are in place and properly applied and within tolerance
• Understand equipment to determine flaws
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• Must be able to pass a 1G welding test
• Prior experience in manufacturing/fabrication shop is preferred but not required
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Acute attention to detail
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Positive attitude and desire to work as a team player
• Follow safety procedures including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment
