Summary: Our Welder is responsible for reading blueprints and shop drawings to perform welding related work orders on prefabbed structural steel for various engineering jobs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Welding steel structural parts as specified per drawing or print
- Determining appropriate welding equipment specific to applicable part
- Operating grinder to prepare and finish welds
- Operating beam rotators
- Operating beam transfers
- Operating magnetic drill
- Full visual inspection of part ensuring all welds are in place and properly applied and within tolerance
- Understand equipment to determine flaws
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Must be able to pass a 1G welding test
- Prior experience in manufacturing/fabrication shop is preferred but not required
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Acute attention to detail
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Positive attitude and desire to work as a team player
- Follow safety procedures including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment
