Prime Manufacturing Process

By Nicole Pierce, Prime Metal Buildings & Components

Hi, I am Chris Mosley. I am the general manager of Structural Fabrication at Prime Metal Buildings and Components. We receive our raw material on 18 wheelers. We get in flat plate, flat bar, WB, and pipe. It’s ran through C&C plasma cutters, C&C plate lines, and our hot roll saw. It’s put together at our semi-automatic pull-through welder, which then feeds to the fitters and the welders. After it is fully welded out, it goes to the paint line, ready to be loaded on a truck. That is the basic overall process.

My name is Luis Galindo. I am the general manager for all the retail stores, and I have been with the company for 25 years. We manufacture roofing panels, wall panels for metal buildings and for metal roofs. We specialize on the PBU panel, PBR panel, 6V Panel, standing seam panel, and the box ribbed panel. We also specialize on custom made trim. The advantage is that we have special equipment for our panel and special equipment for the trim.

From top to bottom keeping all of our manufacturing in house is a big plus for Prime. We are able to have our hands and eyes on every piece of material that comes through the door and every finished product that goes out the door. If a customer does call with a problem, we know exactly where to go and who to talk to get that resolved for the customer as soon as possible. I believe what makes our employees proud about working for Prime is that it is made in the USA. We are a small community; you get to work with your family, friends, and neighbors. I feel that we have a really good strong team because of that.

Customers choose Prime because our friendly staff and because we educate our customer on their needs. A lot of the time they don’t really know exactly what they need but we give them an idea on what’s going to work for their purpose. And at the end of the day, we provide a superior product for our customers.
